Summary

Rolly Tasker Sails returns to one-design! Based on our Olympic tradition and driven by the personal passion of our team, we now offer high-performance sails for Finn dinghies and Optimists.

Our Core Business Is Cruising Sails

Rolly Tasker Sails are renown around the world as the preferred choice for cruising sailors, from relaxed daysailing to family coastal cruising and truly adventurous ocean voyaging and circumnavigating.

Our sails have a strong reputation for offering best quality for your money, in terms of performance, but also and maybe even more importantly for offshore cruising folk, for being strong, reliable and dependable.

So Why Did We Choose To Enter The One Design Sails Market?

At first glance, it seems like quite a departure that we now also make first class, high performing one-design class dinghy sails for the highly competitive Optimist and Finn Dinghy classes. But this actually takes us back to our rootsour founder, Rolly Tasker (1926 to 2012), began his outstanding racing career in sailing in one-design dinghy racing on international and even Olympic levels. In fact, Rolly Tasker was the first ever Australian sailor to win an Olympic medal, silver, in the 12-square-metre Sharpie class at the 1956 Olympic races in Melbourne.

We Are Personally Involved

Things have obviously moved on since, but here’s another reason why we are back in dinghy racing: We are very much personally involved, not only but also through our CEO Sven who has, next to his usual family and offshore sailing, also taken up sailing the Finn Dinghy. And through his kids who are beginning an active and competitive sailing career in the Optimist.

We also support sailors in this class, both in Thailand and Europe.

If We Do It, We Do It Right

For both the Optimist and Finn classes, we invested in a lot of research, training and testing with some internationally highly competitive sailors and their coaches to find the best possible sail designs that you can now benefit from.
