Yesterday we went for a shake down sail with the new sails and they look great, we had perfect conditions for testing the staysail with a couple of 20 knot gusts. The only sail we did not try out was the new spinnaker as we decided to wait for lighter winds to try that for the first time. Everything fits perfectly, the sail shapes look fantastic. The sails are excellent, the mainsail particularly is a work of art and has a beautiful shape, so much better than the old one! Great price – super value – quality sails – A very happy customer :-) Test sailed today in circa 20kts to 28kts of wind in Southampton water. On a reach we achieved 9.3 to 9.5 kts max SOG with tide and 7 to 7.3 kts SOG against – Boat was flying along with her new sails. We have ordered a Performance Tape Carbon (PTS) jib made in the Rolly Tasker Factory in Phuket and it proved to be an excellent choice. Sails came really good and we have won 5 degrees upwind, the sail is really stiff and light and easy to trim. I reckon it is a very good sail for racing with a very reasonable price tag. The factory has been very responsive to my request, we have decided to build a 68 sqm2 mainsail using the same technology which will be used in the Royal Langkawi Regatta in January and we will feed you with pictures.
